8 tips for New House Feng Shui and making it great!

Moving house is a very stressful time, but it can also be a time for new beginnings, why not use simple new house feng shui tips to make your move auspicious?

New House Feng Shui, let’s get started.

One – Clear Clutter

A neat and tidy space is the best space for good feng shui. Clear out the clutter and try to downsize before moving into your new home. This also means you need to unpack your belongings as soon as you possibly can and ensure that everything has a home. Leaving your boxes in the garage until you are ready to unpack them is great feng shui for your new home.
This includes getting rid of decor items that you no longer like, need or use. Be a little tough on yourself at this end of the move and the rest will be made a little easier.

Two – Your Bedroom

Feng shui for your bedroom

This is your retreat. Treat yourself after the move to something nice for your bedroom; a new bedspread, for example, is a great way to make a change in the new home.
Create the perfect bedroom and the rest of your life will improve with the good qi.

Three – Clear the House

Perform some kind of space clearing ritual, perhaps using a Tibetan Space Clearing Bell. Houses and homes have memories just like humans; your house could be harbouring the issues of the previous owner or tenant. My personal favourite is to use something like a sage smudge stick to cleanse the area.

Four – Own It

The kitchen that is. Take the time to put your own energies into your kitchen. Fill a bowl with gorgeous, fresh colorful fruits. Brew your favorite tea. Bring fresh herbs into your new kitchen. Make it your own and spend some time nourishing it.

Five – Keep it Personal

The moving in day should strictly be kept to those that are immediate family or those that will be living in the dwelling. Politely ask guests to wait until the house-warming party before coming to visit. Try to allow your family a week to settle in and fill the home with your energies before throwing your party.

Six – Cleaning Tools

Buy new cleaning tools for the new premises. Mops and Brooms in particular. You want to avoid sweeping your old problems into the new property.

Seven – Bring Gifts

It may sound a little odd but give thanks to the new property for allowing you in and bring gifts to symbolize your new beginning. A bowl of fruit for example including oranges for prosperity, apples for safety, pineapple for good fortune, pomegranate for opportunities and peaches for good health. You can also bring gold, savings account statements and anything else that represents wealth and good fortune.

Eight – Command Position

Place your furniture as best you can in the “Command Position”. The command position is where you major pieces of furniture (lounge chair, desk, bed, couch, your place at the dining room table) are facing the door or entranceway and have a view of any windows.
